Palaghat R. Raghu was a renowned percussionist from the Carnatic Music tradition. His instrument of expertise was the Mridangam, which he learnt from early childhood. Palaghat was a well known figure not only in India, but all around the world. He toured across Europe, America, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore extensively in his career. He performed alongside well known Indian Classical musicians like Pandit Ravi Shankar, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivkumar Sharma and Allah Rakha in many many concerts. He also taught music in Wesleyan University, San Diego University and University of California as a visiting professor. Some of the prestigious awards he earned in his career were Sangeet Natak Academi (1983), Padma Shri (1985) and Sangeetha Kalanidhi (2007).

This 4 part documentary takes you through the different stages of Shri Palghat R. Raghu. The footage you see here was released in honor of his 80th birthday celebrations in January 2008. Here you go!
