Simplifying Riyaz to help you stay focussed on practice

Posted on March 20, 2020 By Gopala Krishna Koduri 29 Comments on Simplifying Riyaz to help you stay focussed on practice

In the update that is rolling out starting today, you’ll see that Riyaz has been simplified quite a lot. Riyaz had four tabs in the earlier versions like below.

This layout has proven to be a distraction for new users as there is too much going on in this screen to comprehend. After consulting with a few users and UI/UX design experts, we have decided to change it to this new design shown below.

Here are the changes.

  • We’ve removed the tabs and let the “Learn” section be the only focus point for the user.
  • We moved the contents of “Tools” to “Learn” section as well. So you can see Vocal monitor and others under “Quick links” now. This frankly did not need another tab anyway! πŸ˜„
  • We’ve removed “Sing” tab altogether as the data clearly showed that it was as not useful to the users.
  • The profile can now be accessed by clicking on your profile picture shown to the top right in the new screen.
  • Leaderboard, streak, notifications and settings can be seen within your profile.
  • If you want to change your music style, it can be done so from Profile -> Settings.

This is part of a bigger change that is in the makings. We are constantly thriving to make Riyaz a complete learning experience for the singing aspirants.

Practising without using headphones is required as continued use of headphones with mic affects ears

      Hi Sanjay,

Thanks for writing. One recommended way is to keep one ear open and use headphones/earphones with the other ear. Hope that helps πŸ™‚

      Best regards.
