Bhoop is an Audava (consists of 5 notes)  raga from the Hindustani music tradition. It is one of the first ragas students learn in Hindustani music. Raag Bhoop is of the most popular ragas for many Indian folk songs as well regional film compositions. There has also been quite a good number of Hindi film songs in Raag Bhoop .

When is Raag Bhoop sung?

Raag Bhoop is sung in the 1st division of the night from 6 pm– 9 pm.

What is the nature of Raag Bhoop?

Raag Bhoop depicts the Bhakti (Devotional) Rasa.

What is the Thaat of Raag Bhoop?

The Thaat of Raag Bhoop is Kalyan.

What are the notes in Raag Bhoop?

The Arohana of the raga is Sa Re Ga Pa Dha Sa’.

The Avarohana of the raga is Sa’ Dha Pa Ga Re Sa (Ni is Komal).

What is the Vadi and Samvadi of Bhoop?

The Vadi is Ga and the Samvadi is Dha.

    Lot of topics raad by undersigned but no one has given the example of bollywood song where and how sargam sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa has been used.
    suppose in ek din bik jayega maati ke mol , please set the sargam and explain how it has been used.

      Really confused if bhoopali and bhoop is same so where komal would be used….?

        Yes, Bhoopali and Bhoop are the same.

        Where this komal ni came in bhoop? It’s pentatonic and as my learning, there is no any Ni.
